The hugger is fixed to the factory chain guard by a small bracket that sits on top of the brake pipe fittings. We provide all fittings for the hugger and no drilling is necessary on the bike. On CBR 600 seat cowls 1991 to 1998 we provide two brackets that bolt to the underneath of the seat and form a fixing point for the seat cowl to bolt to.
On the '99 and 2000 bikes the seat cowl slides onto the back of the seat, locking it into position.
